Stopped the car to take a picture of this "giant dandelion" -Goat's Beard - and it wasn't until my fifth picture of so that I noticed the ladybug. This is the same picture as the one before, but I prefer the black and white - it goes well with the contrast between the plant and the background, and it makes that little red bug really stand out.

Taken from my dad's cabin's front porch. I think this is Humbolt peak, but I'm not certain.
Held the shutter open for twenty seconds and painted the trees with a flash light.
Got up before sunrise for my first ever morning shoot.
I told my dad I had heard something huge down by the creek while I was taking pictures of flowers. We went searching for an elk or a bear. We found it - a deer.
This flower is a Mariposa Lily, aka a Calochortus. I thought I had stumbled upon some rare flower, but they turned out to be numerous. I took dozens of pictures of these little guys, many of which are in this gallery. This is probably the worst of the bunch.
